Burbon Bar

this is a shot i took in a bar on burbon street, just 2 empty seats, first chance ive had to use my camera since ive been at school, so i hope you enjoy, ill try and post here more.....

Times must be slow, I never remember seeing empty seats in a bar on Burbon Street. I like your image though.

The chairs turned torwards the wall makes the picture look flat to me. The need to be turned so they give a more three d look....

I like it. Only thing I would do is put an empty or half full glass on the table.

Looked at this a few times and now I can tell you what bothers me.

1. I would prefer this in Portrait not Landscape
2. I would like to see the legs of the chairs and some floor (Check with landlord if it would be ok to move things to get picture)
3. Change position of chairs so that they look inviting
4. Empty glass and bottle of Burbon on the table
5. bounce the flash of the ceiling to stop the shine being centred in the wall so that the shine is more even.
6. If your going for symmetry then the chairs need to be moved so that they are centred between the wood frame. (this is an alternative shot)

Sorry to have so many changes but the photo feels flat and doesn't talk to me.

Roger makes some good points here. The vertical frame (portrait) would work better here and including the legs and some floor would be the better composition, I feel. Positioning the chairs so that they are seated around the table and perhaps some old flowers in a vase or whatever you may find in the bar would bring more depth, and added interest. That wall surrounded by the finished wood panels is a great visual and hopefully you can get back there again.
