Bridge and Flower
These two were shot at the Magnolia Plantation near Charleston, SC. Kodak Easy Share (really wish I had my new rebel then)

Re: Bridge and Flower
I like the bridge one better...I guess I can feel a lack of attitude from the flower.
The bridge one is neat, tho I might suggest to trim or better...blur the tree on the left to enhance the main subject in the composition. The reflection is great. If you had a chance shoot it from a different angle...may be a more frontal approach will look better.

Re: Bridge and Flower
The bridge is the better of the two for me but I have a few issues with it.
It seems a little to tight and also and at to acute an angle making the trees crowd in on the bridge. If you can re-shoot try opening up the angle.
The reflection is gorgeous
The flower on the other hand needs to be a lot closer or put more in context, but not so crowded by the reflections of the trees.
Just on a point of etiquette post just one photo at a time so that we can concentrate on the one photo.

Re: Bridge and Flower
The bridge shot has potential, but maybe shooting a bit more from the right to open up the angle a bit would help. You have a great idea, just tweak it a bit.

Re: Bridge and Flower
Thanks for all the advice, and the etiquette :) I didn't see that request until after I had posted the shots. I've attached another shot of the bridge that is a bit wider; if I do get back to South Carolina i will most definitely be re-shooting this area.

Re: Bridge and Flower
Blue, how would I go about blurring the tree? I'm new at this and have not done any playing around with photo software or manipulation of pictures

Re: Bridge and Flower
The second bridge pic shows much better the length of the bridge itself do to angle of the pic which I do prefer.
Regarding the blurring dont know what PP software do you have....if you have PS (photoshop) what I do is either a surface blur or a Gaussian blur to the whole image and the with the eraser tool erase the areas you want to see without blur, in this case the bridge and background.
