    I like the 1st photo...very abstract when looked at, may be the size. Even large this would have a great impact, especially if it is sharp.
    A later time in the day may also have a good effect on a scene like this...sunlight thru or on the new growth.
    If you were to shot again , I would try to get rid of some of the foreground distraction, mat it down a bit. I know, some people don't mess with the scene...but on this one and the 2nd photo I would. It would help to clear up the picture.
