Boxcar Flag, I am a beginner, be nice but honest!

I have had a D50 for a month or so and taken less than 100 shots with it. I have been shooting with a Kodak DX6490 for a year prior, but mostly family events and such. Things I know I need to fix on this so far: The horizontal lines are not quite straight. The color is accurate to what I saw...a faded red, but might look better with brighter reds. The shot was done on a cloudy early morning last weekend, in Garden City, NY. Thank you all in advance for helping me grow.
