    Alley @ night

An old little street in my hometown Cologne.

    HDR from 5 RAW-pics.

Interesting effect, it looks almost like a painting.
Quite a nice mix of light sources and colours.
I think I'd like to see a little more night sky.

I saw this in the "night project" section...its great in the larger format. You should post it in the critique section of the gallery for increased size. Its pretty amazing.
Please ask to edit photos and I'll do the same!
    Thx, Rod

Nice work. The HDR created a great effect this time. I didn't know you could combine RAW files? Did you do it in CS2?

There's quite an ugly neon glow lamp hangig above the street, that's why I cut it at the top.

The HDR was created with Photomatix.

Welcome to the forum. This is a very good composition and the two signs on the left and the motorcycle on the lower right create a very good balance. I'm not a fan of the HDR process. . . .yet. In this case, while it does take on the appearance of a painting, I feel the mood and ambience is lost due to everything being exposed. The shadows and "depth" is lost, for me.
thanks for showing, glad you found us.

btw, i just saw your reply to Greg after posting my first response. I like the vertical framing better, and also the scene has much more mood even if some of the elements are hidden away in the shadows. I agree about the distracting neon light. Perhaps you could clone it out

I think it's worth working on that neon light and cloning it out, just to get the moon in the in the final image.
