I was trying the Nikon J1 with 30-110mm tonight. This is at ISO 1600, f/5.6, and 1/30. It was almost 8:00 EST and misty/raining.

    Normally, I would use a D7000 and 70-200mm @ f/2.8 and ISO 3200 and 1/250 in the same conditions.

As it was, I tried to make the most of the blur with a little contrast and sharpness adjustment.

With the first shot,I like the composition but I feel it needs one of the elements to be steady and sharp to anchor the image probably her head, had that been sharp I think this would have been a killer shot.

The second is not obvious to me whats going on so is a little confusing and busy.

I agree with Hminx, great photo. In the first photo there's a lack of focus on a interesting point. Looks like the autofocos got the chest - the head of the girl would be better - or the ball, I'd like to see that!

The second one is great too, but you should get a closer view - the girl in the middle and the other 2 trying to hold her thats the picture. what about the little lady in the back, watching the game? you got the moment right but there are too much information in the scene!

I agree although a very good attempt to say the least
