Black and white, or colour?
This was taken on the beach at Groomsport, then I changed lots of the colours to make it way brighter. Then I done a black and white one as well, but I dont know what one's better.

The black and white one is here
Re: Black and white, or colour?
Personally, I'd say color. I love the vividness of the houses and the nice, bleded color of the sand.
That's my opinion,

Re: Black and white, or colour?
Colored version better as the colors lend a better visual of depth here. Sky also looks better. I am not crazy about the large area of blurry foreground and would only suggest cropping off the bottom quarter. Good scene
Re: Black and white, or colour?
I think that the B/W would be more dramatic than the color version if you would manipulate the channels to create something other than a B/W version of a color photo.
The potential is there....go for it!!
The out of focus area in the foreground is almost the lightest area in the photo. This creates competition away from the center of interest. I would suggest completely cropping the bottom third of the photo.
But, then again, there is no accounting for taste...especially mine... :D
Re: Black and white, or colour?
I agree with CarbonTerry. Either crop out the unfocused portion of the photo, or you could take the picture again with a lot more depth of field. I would prefer more DOF, but this still might distract from the main subject.Keep it in color. Good job so far.
