    POW!

I love it! This works for me on so many levels. The contrasts of color to monochrome, contrasts of textures and surfaces, the position of the man in the frame, the man himself ~ this one is just firing on all cylinders. Great catch Tuna!

Once again I have to be the odd man out but, what heck is this? A little man with a ton of dead space, I just don't see it being a "POW". Don't get me wrong, it is a nice shot but but but. There is nothing going on here, nothing. Pictures tell a story, there is no story here.

Sorry It just doesn't work for me.

Tuna - I'm more impressed by the man's outline and the wall. The stairs don't do much for me personally, they're just too dark. Tyson has a pt about the negative space though.. the fellow is so far away you can't really make much out, so you can't get much emotion from the photo. In that respect, it's cold, like a HS auditorium after hrs. Ahhh...

    Tuna,

This is brilliant, both in terms of composition and technical rendition. Two thumbs up, by all means.

Congratulations, Tuna. I like the transition from dark to light on the wall, with the guy sitting in the light.

    Hi Tuna,
Congratulationss! I like the shot a lot because of its simplicity, cleaniness, and elegance. The presence of the man lifts the aesthetics to a transquil moment.

yes! this is a great piece of art, i like it very much.
is it an installation? don't get me wrong, the man looks a little bit unreal, as it was one of those hyperrealistic dolls, or it could be painted (at least on my screen it comes out a little bit like that)...i like that. excellent! i would not be wondering if i see it in an art book very soon.
thank you so much for that post.

Just plain riveting, especially when you can see the sharpness of the tiny man in the corner, brilliant.

Nice composition and good tonal range. I do find the wall outlets a bit distracting and would have PS'ed them out, but that's me.

    Cheers,

This is a feast for the eyes, I appreciate the textures of the wall and the play of light there and the tones of black in the steps. The man in the corner adds interest. I also like the clever title, I was expecting a color photo changed to b/w......excellent work. Congrats well earned.

This is a shot to inspire and teach future photographers. I love the contrast in shapes and tonal values. The subject composition and distance makes the shot powerful. Thank you for sharing this with us.

I like this image, my one gripe or preferance would be to crop it tighter. You'd still show the tonal grades but the person would become much more prevelant in the image. One thinkg I was always taught in college and then the military is: "What's the primary point of an image?" That's my viewpoint from a documentary point of view. Nice job.

    Tuna,
Everytime I log on (which has been rare these days) I'm never dissapointed by what I see as your latest and greatest.
EYE CANDY. every picture, every time. The division of stairs and wall is spot on, the textures and geometry in this one in conjunction with the depth of the monochromatic look really pack a serious punch.
I'd have to disagree with the above about the cropping tighter, the man lost amongst larger things is great. The wall outlets add another aspect of symmetry to the shot

I think we're going to have to coin a new word for this one, as I cannot stop coming back to look at it.

    eyegasmic.
