    On the Prowl..

I shot this last weekend at a studio shoot. The theme was 'Anime,' but this was before the model had her makeup.

    She's 15, btw ..

C&Cs appreciated. Also, suggestions on backgrounds are appreciated: I was thinking of a dense jungle, but don't have that handy. Here's some other PP backgrounds I pasted her into.

    Re: On the Prowl..

From the 3 shots I prefer the first one without background, it would look cool to see her complete shadow on the floor. The other two are way to dark IMO.
Now...Anime...sorry but I must say it lacks any trade the resembles anime.

Am I committing a crime if I confess she is utterly hot and that you flattered her?

    Re: On the Prowl..

Rob, I can adjust the darkness on the other two. I personally like the bottom one but think it needs some more work ... she needs to be brighter, as does the spear tip. I have more of the shadow and can add it back in. Yes, not really ANIME here as we were just warming up... Unfortunately, they scheduled this shoot just before a local NFL playoff game and most of us wanted to shoot for 1.5 hrs and run to see the game. (I heard some models complaining about that.) So I didn't stick around for her to get her ANIME makeup.

Daq, not at all ! The photographer shooting her can't though, the models sorta get freaked out easy, and although 15 year old ones may like it their parents would not Thanks for the compliment.

Liban, I got that spear in New Mexico many years ago. It's more native American than Japanese, but what the heck. I need to tweak that first shot a bit to make it just a little bit better.

I like the bg in the second one but her feet and spear are cut off.
I might change my mind and go for the third if you did brighten her and spear up.

I like the second background, wit the moon, but she is much too dark in there.
Looks good against the white seamless.

    Re: On the Prowl..

As they are, the shot on white seamless is the clear winner for me, great exposure and the 1:1 lighting ratio wraps her well. I do like the moonlight background but increase the EV by at least a full stop (maybe more) and put a cooling filter on that layer - one of the hardest things I've found in doing composites is balancing color temperature between the images to make the results look plausible. You might also want to dodge the back of the hat, far arm, and far leg as the moon *should* be providing some rim light.

    Re: On the Prowl..

Editing this one is more challenging than I expected, though I tried another with a jungle background (freely downloaded from www.socksoff.co.uk/walls03.html). Not sure about this one.

As for the moon one being so dark, I noticed that on my work laptop today. I guess this monitor I'm using right now at home is a bit bright.

The last one posted is my favorite, I like the lighting balance that you have achieved, and the background emphasizes her beauty. Very nice work.
