    uw medical center

We were at the Univiersity of Washington medical center all day and took a walk with my camera looking for shots. I like architecture shots and wonder if this works and whether anything should be different.

Nice angle but I am not sure if I like the lamp in there or not......

I would also like a bit more contrast with the wall closer to white.
    No, I DON'T need that.

It's a very good subject, Frog. the repeating patterns of windows and panels. I agree the lamp post should not be included. The perspection distortion is not good for this type of architectural shot and a correction in PS would do the trick . A little bit brighter would be nice.
    Good find

I agree w/ Gary & MB about the light pole and the tone. Regarding distortion, sometimes it works for you and sometimes against you, in this instance I think it's working against you. It's almost "there" just not quite. A few minutes in photoshop would make this image much stronger, or a reshoot if the oportunity presents itself.

Thankyou, mb and Gary and Jetrim who posted while I was replying.
I was iffy about it and just wondered what others would think.

I like the concept and close up capture of the building
Going to have to go along with the others on the light post for me more of a distraction. Not sure how it lights up at dusk or dawn but maybe a little more dramatic lighting would bring out more contrast or highlights just a thought.

Frog - I might also crop that light out. It isn't all that bad, but, it does interfere with the pattern that otherwise speaks wonders to me. I am not sure about how the resulting composition may be, however. Try it.

Nice find btw. I would go back and do a few more under different lighting conditions - sunrise, sunset, with the light on, etc.

    Re: uw medical center

I'll give a shot at removing the light pole.
Wouldn't it be a bit boring with just a wall/window pattern?

I agree with what the others have stated Frog. Crop out the right side, straighten it and skew it. A touch of selective coloring, white, and a contrast boost. Good eye Frog.

    Re: uw medical center

I would have broken down the light and worried about legal consequences later... would have made a wonderful shot... not boring in the least... There's nothing else i can add that has not already been said...

I like it though... i do!

    Re: uw medical center

Frog, i don't think it would be boring if u removed the light or reshot this from a different angle. once u correct the perspective what is gonna keep the eye interested is how the windows keep getting smaller as u go to the left. The end will be somewhat of an Architectual / Pattern shot. I think it would look great.
