    Bird of Paradise

I probably should put this in the Nature and Wildlife. These came in a box of flowers from Hawaii late this afternoon courtesy of a dear friend.

I didn't have really the right lights at home, plus really did not want to 'cook' the flowers, but kept misting them. Let me know how you think they came out.

The colors do seem a tad washed (possibly because of the flash), but also beacuse it's on an excellent black background. Love it. Great purpler flowers on the stem, and a nice orange too.

    Well done,

The crop is a little tight, but ok. The purple flowers look too saturated, but the Bird of Paradise looks fine. The lighting does seem to look like a flash, so i would say it needs some improvement there. Overall a nice flower shot, and the black background makes it stand out strong

I like the composition a lot. There's a concentration of colour in the middle right and everything seems thin out very nicely as it moves to the top and left. I wish the black was a bit richer though. Also the three bits of yell to the far right distract my attention. They wouldn't be hard to clone out. Other than that you've got yourself a very lovely image.
