    Bare tree in sunset

I saw this tree as I was driving downtown and pulled over to get some photos. I would have like a better sunset, but how do you like this? It's a simple image, and I like that for this.

    Re: Bare tree in sunset

In the top image the trunk of the tree splits the frame in half. It kind of works here but generally it would be better to avoid splitting the frame. I do like the detail of the branches and the background color works-if it was a spectacular sunset the subject would have been the sky, here the subject is the tree.

The second image doesn't show the detail of the tree branches as well and the plain sky gives you nothing on the left side of the frame.

The first image is the one for me.
    No, I DON'T need that.

Thanks. I was really going for the tree more than the sky anyway. Maybe sometime I'll try a better shot of this, now that I know where to find the tree.

    Re: Bare tree in sunset

I like the simple silhouette with the sunset in the background. The first shot seems a little cramped to me. I would like to see some space around the edges of the tree. The second shot is my favorite of the 2 but, personally I like to see the trunk and a little bit of the ground with tree shots. I would have pulled back just a hair more to get a little of the ground line in.

How about this? I didn't post it first because I dont like the silhouetted things in at bottom left, but I've looked at it more and it isn't too bad, just a bit distracting from the lawn.

My thoughts would echo Aaron's. I also like the last version better than the previous two, but the "stuff" at the bottom left is a little distracting. Maybe you could try cloning from the right side to the left?

The second version is much better. I don't even find the silhouettes in the bottom left distracting but, if you don't like them, they should be very easy to clone out.

Thanks for the comments. I'm not much for cloning, I like to take photos and have them be right without that, so I don't think I will do that. I'll probably try it again sometime and see if I can get rid of the things and make a better photot too.
