Yogestee, I like how you composed this shot. You've included all the stuff that's important and omitted everything that isn't. I don't, however, care for the lighting. The light is too straight-on, ad the whole image looks flat for it. Was this shot taken in a studio or outdoors? Either way, she needs to get hit with some varying lights to bring out some of the landscape of her face.
    Thanks for posting!

McMadCow,,I bounced a Canon 580EX flash out of a 45" umbrella,,it was shot indoors..I wanted a really flat lighting to excentuate the shape of Gemma's face..I increased the contrast in PS by a mile to give the image a lithfilm look and added some grain..The whole exercise was to get rid of most of her skin tones and give notice to her eyes..

Thanx ladybugamanda,,,this very image is now hanging in her hair salon..

For me that's great, it's what makes this image.
It reduces the image to the shape of the hair framing the face, without distractions.
I was going to say it looks like a hair/fashion shot - then read lower down that's where it's ended up

    Beautiful yogestee.

I was going to say something about the lighting being direct but if that's the look you was going for then you did a great job.

I like direct lighting images to be honest. My portrait of Danielle was direct window light if you remember.

I love the slight angle you gave the image too

WOW!! - this is terrific. I had a friend who played around with lith.

This is excellent representation from what I remember of it.

    The composition is spot on.

    Nicely done sir.
