    i like the subject of the lone umbrella in the sand and the man in the water. however, I think you included too much in the scene to make it work.
    There are too many layers here. . .the grass in the fg, the sand, the water, the distant shore and then the blank sky. I think isolating the subject more would be the way to go here. I hate to crop so much, but I would crop from the bottom to eliminat the grass, then crop from the top to eliminate the sky,land and pole in the distance creating a horizontal composition with just the umbrella, swimmer and pole behind him.

    The horizon looks off and I think you shot from too far away.

    Good to see another one of your images. I think Gary pretty well nailed it here. I feel as he does that you just included to much for the viewer to process. Get in a little closer to the main subject and give the viewer something to focus on.

    CR - Hmm... different. It's hard to immediately see what you saw here. It's very subtle, that is. I'm looking for a crop that would wake it up but I really don't see one. Maybe someone can take a shot at a crop and post?
