Band in miniature

Its a shot of my sons band play, was messing around in CS6 to see if I could make it kinda of a miniature effect. Sort of got it to look like it is a little. When I shot this it was with my 18-200 so slow glass and dark arena so sharpness is a little off.

It looks like a good experiment but I can see one major issue with it. The whole "toy village" style of photography is based on a particular perspective. It's mimicking a person looking down at a miniature train set or some other sort of diorama. In your photo, we're looking almost directly across at the band, not down on it. Maybe it would have worked better if there was a balcony to shoot from. But shooting from the same level as the band doesn't really give the effective your trying to get.
