    Backlit.
This is probably the best image I've ever taken, and with what many regard as a 'rubbish' lens, the Canon EF 75-300mm IS USM.

While I did notice some chromatic aberration on the tree (particularly on the left side) it's not very intrusive. The quality of the lens isn't the best, but I think it has done justice to this scene. This was part of a college project, and as such, I also have this scene (not the same image) on Colour transparency/Colour Reversal/Slide film, which is always nice. The shot has been unedited, except for adding the border.

    Critique away!

Great shot and I can't think of anything you could do to improve it:)

Very nice and welcome to PR! I like the fluffyness of the closer clouds and the more defines ones further away. (Closer ones moving?) I think you have the right amnount of 'base' at the bottom. You could try cropping a little off the top and maybe the left. It does look strange that the sky near the horizon is so red with the sun still that high??? - TF

When I get home I will make the adjustments. I also found that weird, but my Colour transparencies seem to agree with this picture.

    Thanks for the input :)

Welcome to the PR forum. You have a very well thought composition along with a fine subject and great color to boot.
Excellent smooth flowing tones and colors in the sky, and your inclusion of just the tops of the ground and grass is perfect. The tree stands out strong, nothing lost and everything intact.
The lens did you well, and you brought out the best of it as well.
    Nice work

This is a lovely photo with a very tranquil feel making me think its time for bed :D

    The colours are outstanding.

I feel that a little bit more on the bottom could have made it even better just to add a bit more balance to that lovely sky.

PS nothing wrong with that lens if it lets you capture photo's like this.

Very nice composition and you captured a beautiful scene.
Looking at the larger image, there is what appears to be a lot of noise, especially in the dark clouds so don't know what that will do to a large print.]

    Welcome to the forums...great start.

Great image...nice composition...overall very well executed shot.
My only nit pick would be to add a little more base (ground) to balance the amount of sky....but again nit pick.

    Thanks :)

I thought I'd post an unedited version first, then perform modifications as more people notice things. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks you everyone for your comments, I really appreciate them.
