What besides not having that god awful couch could be done for this one? I played with the lighting in Elements 2.

What besides not having that god awful couch could be done for this one? I played with the lighting in Elements 2.

It's tough to get a good picture inside with on-camera flash. I'd just try to get them outside in the daylight next time.

Take out the shadow under the older boy's chin, reduce the shine on the noses and lips, extend the grey background from top left right down to the younger boy and between the two heads and around to the other side of the older boy, add a highlight to the left eye of the older boy and lighten up the left side of the older boy's head to separate it from the background. I would then decide on a tone and contrast level for the background.
