    Brrrllllp

(that would be me, suppressing the urge to hurl while leaning over the balcony, 40 stories up)

    Quick grab from this morning.

Gosh - it made my dizzy just looking at it! The little triangle in the top right and the bar thing pointing bottom right are nice touches - very cleverly framing the image. It is too perfectly done to be an accident - so very well done you!! Often it is the little, almost insignificant compositional touches that make all the difference.

Very very nice! Love the composition and the disorientation it produces

I do think it's a little dark. I don't know if modifying that would mar the mood though.

Ah but this has the look of that guy with the tools, same kind of processing.
    Works well here, too.

As the others have already said very nice composition and what an opportunity to get an unusual photo.

    Nice one

Great composition and I really like the perspective.

The brightness (or lack of) and processing work well, I think.

I agree with Mike in that the framing is well done and thought out. I like the slight inclusion of the building you were shooting from at the bottom. The yellow hardhats offering the slightest bit of color really bring your eye back to them after having a great look around the place.
    Well done.

Dray; all your work is always interesting and this is no exception. I am enjoying the dirty, coalface colouring and of course the yellow hats. Hope you were wearing one.
I am having fun too checking out all the stuff on the ground and wondering what it is.
A well filled frame if there was ever one.

I like how its almost monotone, with the exception of the yellow safety helmets.

    Striking image, I thought.

    Re: Brrrllllp

    Thanks all!

Cara - yeah, I was thinking it might be a little too dark on some people's displays.

Tom - At this height, I'm afraid, a hardhat would be about as protective as a straw hat.

Here's a 50mm view of the site to give it a little perspective, though even this shot doesn't give one a complete sense of height and scale:

    Thanks again.

Great shot Dray, nothing more to add beyond what everyone else has, love it as is - no need for critique.

You are correct about the hardhat too. If I recall correctly, they're not designed to protect your head from anything larger than a 3/8" nut, and from that height even something as small as that would likely shatter it and send the wearer to the hospital.

Great work. The processing is perfect. The crop, everything works well.

    Re: Brrrllllp

I had a little trouble getting the 1st image to load, but it did after refreshing couple times.

Superb, love the PP. And a very interesting shooting angle. Maybe if you get rid of the upper-right corner (clone / crop), it'll help simplify, as my eye is going to the corner and to the people... back-and-forth.

That is my only suggestion. Very nice work, brightness is fine on my monitor.

    Both are very greats shots.

As far as the scale goes, looking at the taxi on the right shows it pretty good.

    Re: Brrrllllp

    Thanks, everyone.

A.D.M.A. - yeah, I was debating as to whether I should leave that in or clone it out. I was looking to kind of frame the image in a weird, somewhat elliptical fashion, but I can definitely see how that detail could be distracting.

Took a couple more this morning, processing really half-assed, but what the hell. Those guys are out early!

(Wondering if I can get some feedback on this one with respect to what I could do to make it better, 'cause I kind of like aspects of it...)

    Re: Brrrllllp

Dray, I like that second one you posted quite a lot. I dig the lighting you have on the building edge as well as the view of the street and taxi.

As for your last one, I think we lose a sense of depth somehow with the worker closer up. I'm thinking les dof would give more a sense of depth and height for this particular comp with the subject so close.
    Still very good though

Ice - still not sure, exactly.

Gary - thanks. That makes sense about the dof. Wish I had thought of that before shooting!
