another from the terminal station...
Another shot from the terminal station posted a few days ago. It could probably be stronger with a better sky. I guess my main question is does this type of thing really interest anyone. I like this type of photo, but feel like I am not doing something right. It is easier to critique someone else than yourself. There are some artifacts from compression for web viewing, but it isn't in the final product...
Re: another from the terminal station...
Payn, I like these types of shots. Not necesssarily on their own though. I might see this as a part of a series, with the roofline, doors, steps, etc. showing the various details of the building.
As for this shot in particular, I feel that your chosen angle is great. I like how the sky is so clean so that nothing clutters the geometrical aspects where the building meets the sky. I do wonder what a bluer sky might look like but this sky in way detracts, as far as I am concerned. And I like how your captured the detail. The various "layers" (I don't know what else to call them) offer a nice continuity to the shot, very much like a ripple.
I like !
Re: another from the terminal station...
Thanks D, somewhere around here are other shots of the same place, it is too big and in the middle of a city, so no way I could shoot it all in one shot. Besides, part of the building is a police station so cars are always present, it serves as the visitor center, and the main local transit terminal, so too much activity too ever shoot it anyway.
Re: another from the terminal station...
I'm with D on this. I think you framed this up perfectly. There is a great pattern in the sky created by the edges of the structure and the details in the building is extra eye candy.I agree that this type shot would be strongest when displayed or presented together with others like it. The only thing I want to point out is what appears to be cloning or eraser marks of some kind near the edges of the structure. Perhaps they are the artifacts from compression you mentioned.
Well done.
