    Landscape

Can't remember when I last posted a pure landscape shot.
I would appreciate your thoughts, pure or impure, on this one.

Grumpy,I feel like I've just dropped my pack, reached for my water bottle, and wiped the perspiration from my face, and now I get to see what made the effort so worthwhile.
The hell with photo critique, this shot is beautiful.

    Re: Landscape

Good shot with a great sky and cloud formation. In postprocessing, I would try to bring up more detail and colour in the sides of the canyon and slightly darken the blue in the sky to make it even more effective.

    Grumpy,

Wow, what a shot. The colors are fantastic, the grass on far hillsides look like velvet. Magnificent view. Nicely done.

Well my first impression is that this photograph needs an element of interest in the immediate foreground (the lower right corner). Something like a flower or a rock to anchor the eyes and fill that specific space. Other than that, this is a very beautiful capture.

    Where was it shot?

    Re: Landscape

Much thanks to you all for taking the time and for your supportive comments.
It was taken in October this year in Yunnan Province SW China. The river is the great Yangtze (in its fairly early stages) finding its way through The Tiger Leaping Gorge; a most wonderful two day trek.
Funnily enough there was a small stone in the right foreground, which I immediately thought was a distraction and removed it, but I will take a second look now.
