    American Graffiti
This was a test shot from my "new" Rolleiflex MX-EVS but I really liked how it turned out so I decided to do a print of it. Now I think I'm in love with this combo of paper and developer :o What say you?

    It's an interesting subject.

I noticed in your signature you have:

"A good photograph is one that makes the viewer so aware of the subject that they are unaware of the print.".

Forgive me if I'm not going to comment about the print :D

What can I say, one day I would like to be able to create such a print.

Well, if nothing else this shot made me smile.

If you can get your viewers to smile that ain't bad.

That is actually all I was looking to accomplish with the photo MB1

It was kind of an exercise to see if I could get across how I felt at the time. It was kind of a dark, dreary day with a mixture of snow and rain falling. My new camera came in and I really wanted to go try it out. The weather changed to completely snow for a minute so I quickly loaded a roll and ran across the street to the park. Still pretty grumpy, I started firing away. Then, I saw this bit of graffiti from a 2 year old and couldn't help but smile and have a little chuckle.

Hmmm, not sure, it is purposely on the dark side, but all lines and wording are clear here on my dark, el-cheapo work monitor. One of these days I promise I will make a brighter print...LOL All the writing is is some immature chicken scratches about someone having herpes.

Aaron - Hmm.. I like the squiggly shape of it, but not so sure of the distracting stuff that shows in the background. I also keep looking for something to focus on, but can't quite find anything. Oh well, I guess it is what it is, a neatly shaped object.

Thanks GB, it's a definite case of trying to turn something out of nothing. This is actually a section of a playground. The wavy section is a tube leading from one level to another. I wanted to try and do something with the graffiti on the side so I thought the best way to do that would be to try and work with the lines that were there. Oh well, it was a worthy effort but, apparently completely ineffective. Thanks guys :)

I thought about telling him that, too, but...shhh.........:)

Anyhow, it seems to me that the tube could use some more contrast to bring out the roundness.

Hmmmmm.. On my monitor I can make out the writing. Very clearly. On both sides of the tube.

I've been wondering, if whatever appears to a bit dark on some of our monitors appears OK on yours, does that mean whatever appears ok on, say, my monitor will appear too bright on yours? Do you find my photos look very bright on your monitor?

Thanks Army :) I agree, it could use the more contrast to bring out the highlights. Unfortunately, this last order, I only ordered normal grade paper so I could try several out. I need to get some higher grade paper next time to get some more contrast :(

Your photos don't seem too bright to me, AgingEyes.
