Yeah, I didn't feel like making it look like an "average" photo. I wanted to take a photo of the baseball and needed a good background. So, that's why it looks like that. Is it good? Yes, no? Critiques? Is the lighting ok? I dont know what to think about it...

So... no one likes how it is not resting directly on something? The only problem is, if I do that, then the background will be inclusive, not slightly blurry how I wanted it to be. Well.. maybe I dont know what I want exatcly...

I actually really like the floating look of the ball. Seems like a balls-eye-view kind of thing for some reason. Almost as if that glove is about to catch it.
Lighting is good, very crisp. Great shot, I'd say.

That's what I think I was going for. As for the lighting, I never even set anything up, I just turned off all lights but one and it looked good.
I think I used F/20 on this shot and about a 25 second shutter.

    Re: A Baseball

Well, I think you have beautiful tones and color here...great texture on the ball, and the baseball glove does work as a background...the only problem for me with it as is, is that with it sort of floating there, it looks like you pasted the ball on to the background...which is fine, in a graphic design sort of way. Is that what you're going for?
I can't decide if I really like it as it is...it sort of leaves me with a feeling that it doesn't quite work...for me. But then that's personal preference-type feedback.
