    I'm not quite sure about the first one. There's the contrast between the live mushrooms and the dead ones, but it doesn't tell me much more. You have nice colors and lighting.

    I like the second one. I especially like the color of the trees and the trunks going down to the water. The texture on the water is nice too, but a really still reflection would probably be better. One thought was maybe to crop so that the shore was about 2/3 down from the top and treat it more like a pano.

    Couple good shots Don :) I like the textures of the mushrooms in the first shot. I might crop in a little tighter on the mushrooms and make the photo primarily a play on the lighting and the textures. The second shot has some great colors in the shore line. I agree with PC that this could make for a good pano.
