    In the alley
Waiting for wife to see doctor and wandered around looking for ops.
Thought this might work. I wasn't as square on with it as I thought so played a bit with perspective and other small edits.
    What do you think?

    Hmmm,tricky shot,ice on the AC,now that's cool....!
-I think its lost some detail in the snow-
    (perhaps my monitor playing up?)
-would like to see it in HDR,or a different edit,to pull out all those lovely textures or a slightly different angle,to catch more of what you saw...and I adore the color !

    PS-critique is NOT a skill I've mastered..here to learn that,too.

    Interesting find, Frog!

Colors, brightness and contrast look just fine on my monitor. And I agree with susaan, that snow on the AC really helps to positively add to this photograph. You've simplified very well, nothing distracts. Great composition, though perhaps a slightly higher shooting angle which included more of the building instead of snow would have been better.

I would only suggest a light crop on the left, so that the AC doesn't *appear* to be as close to the right edge (balancing trick). Also a little cropping on the bottom.

-just wanted a teensy weensy bit more contrast....but...:blush2: .when I lowered my screen it was fine....which is weird,as I have to raise it for best view of other shots.......:mad2: ...
-Sorry,Frog,but I did learn something by my mistake !

"Oh Santa..you you fit a new monitor in your sack..?"

    Good tips Alex!

Frog,Good find ! What really caught my eye is how the snow slipped off that center pipe, still held together.
Nice contrast of colors , great texture. I like this...

I wondered, Susan as I had increased the texture quite a bit. The wall especially didn't show that much texture..
Alex, a half inch higher and you'd have a white roof line across the top with nothing of interest. I do think it could use a bit of crop at the bottom, I guess and I see what you mean on the left. If I ever print it, I probably will.
    Thanks all for the comments.

It looks fine to me Frog. I have tried a few meters myself but have never had any luck with them. I think the three together like that works well. Maybe crop a little of the bottom out. Good eye on this one Frog.

'Twas only a nit pick,Frog,-snow was a little light on texture...until I angled my monitor.....wall already had it.
-Its increasingly hard to find any cons to go with the pros in your photos....as the good critique guide says....
