After the rain...
Here is one shot I took last week from my appartment after a rainy day. Some PS work on contrast and light.
What do you think?

Re: After the rain...
My first thought was that it was too centered... Makes it feel almost like a drain, and the water (light) is pouring down..that may only make sense to me though...
anyway.. I think that **maybe** if you cropped some off the right side?
I'm kinda wishy washy on that opinion though... I'll have to look at it again later.. :D

First thing I would do is crop the right side just a bit to set it off center... second thing I would do is try to search up into the cloud for the mother ship. FANTASTIC shot!!

Re: After the rain...
I don't have a problem with the centering here but the silhouette of the dome of the building is distracting because it is cut off too much. Would have been good to have more of it in or leave it out, but as it is it looks like it was cut off to abruptly. The sky and its light are fantastic and may be able to stand on its own with out the silhouette.

Crops...
Thank you for your inputs, I will be out of town this weekend, as soon as I come back I will try different crops and post them.
Thanks again

What Gary said...
I agree with Gary, there should be more of the building. The placement of it within the frame is fine, you just need more of it.
The sky is very dramatic. Great lighting. I don't think the photograph would be interesting with just the sky and light though, it needs another element.

I agree with Gary that the sihouette of the dome is distracting and leaves me wanting for more. The sky in itself could have been the subject of your pic (I have no doubt about it: this summer I bumped into a freelance photographer who just happened to have sold a complete series of clouds/sky pictures to a ... spa!)
Otherwise, I find that the highlights are a bit burned. I would not have minded having darker clouds on the edge on the frame.... You should maybe consider bracketing your shots. Mostly if you shoot digital :D !
Cheers,
Steph.
