Adawning Moment

What better way to join a photography forum, than with a photo! I've been a passive reader for a little while, and finally decided to join.

I took this photo around 7:00PM, just as the sun was starting to set. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with it, except for the powerlines running through the bottom of the shot, and the second, denser tree in the bottom, left.

Thoughts and opinions are welcomely accepted!

Well, i like it, perhaps if you make the image a little bit smaller so that it fits into the screen a bit easier?

And i agree the dark tree on the left detracts from it!

... and welcome to our little party!

Your pic. is quite nice. I like the colors and the tree silhouette. The exposure was right for this puprose and the overall scene is tack sharp.

Yes... I agree the tree on the left distract a bit from the main subject.

Now, I think the biggest problem with this photograph is that there is no reference point such as an horizon, or piece of the ground. As it is, the main subject (i.e. tree) seems to be floating in the air. It is not 'grounded'.... When photographing trees, I found that the pics where the tree truncs are not 'grounded' are always a bit disturbing or difficult to interpret... mmmm... am I making sense?

Otherwise I love the colors!
