I like it, apart from the cut off chair on the right. Somebody walking across the yard would be interesting maybe...top view of a person :)

    Nice catch.

I do wish the color was stronger in the pavers (perhaps a polorizing filter) and that the tables, chairs and that nice strong shadow came just a little more into the frame. But still that is being pretty picky over a very nice shot.

I like the way the yellow of the chairs and table burst forth from the muted pavers. Nice shot.

    Robert -

I see you're thinking out of the box here. It's an interesting compositional experiment, but alas, there's still way too much negative space as it stands. If you had a person sitting on one of the chairs, looking outward to that area.. I think that it would work better because the vacantness would imply something. Or, perhaps if there was a little puppy running through that area. Something like that :D

Congrats on bucking the conventional though

Robert - Nice perspective, but I too think there's a little too much negative space. I'd prefer to see a little more of the table and chairs.

I like the idea here, but I think a composition like this needs to have the perfect lighting to get it where it is trying to go. A perfect light would warm and enhance the colors of the paving stones and the chairs. also, it would cast the shadows of the chairs out from under them and off to the side in a more three dimensional look. Contrast would be strong as well.
I like what you were going for here, but it suffers just some from the less than ideal light for this.
    Good eye.
