Hey, I havent posted here in quite a while and I finally got my dSLR (Nikon D40). I'll be posting some of my work over the pat year for some advice. This one here is not all the original, and it was totally inspired by the moment of a night out in London. Just happened when I was walking around town, totally aimless with my camera around 2 in the morning and I Said "Hey! I don't have a tripod, but let me try some extended shutter speeds".

The Camera is resting on the handrail of the Bridge which I find gives the impression we're almost right in the street. I wish I had gone a few yards back and got in the entire arch, but what do you think??

I love the composition and approach here. The only thing is that a lot of the shot is over exposed. If you shot this with a smaller aperture like F16 you could've controled the amount of light or exposure better while still getting the nice trails you have here. Really nice place and worth a reshoot imo. good try.

Thanks Leels! I plan to reattempt when outside isnt so damn freezing late at night.. late at night is the only time the bridge doesnt have pedestrians.

Maybe some manipulation would help like playing a bit with gamma correction?? Its a good shot though!

I'd agree with Leels that the shot is a bit over exposed but I really like the composition as already noted.

Try waiting until a car is past you and heading onto the bridge, with no oncoming traffic. Then the headlights will work in your favor, not against you.
