    1929 Lincoln Loche

In the side mirror of a 1936 Durant. Absolutely gorgeous automobiles.

Cf, it looks to me like you have too much going on in the frame. The second mirror or headlight is crowding the composition. I like the reflection in the chrome , but could do without the other mirror.

Thanks, Gary. I appreciate the comment. The attempt was to capture the reflection in both fixtures. They are actually lights, not mirrors, but no matter, point taken.

    Thanks again.

To further expand on the two light domes as reflective elements, one in sharp focus and the other one not, is also disconcerting. I like the idea of the two different views, however I feel that they both should convey something to the composition. One being out of focus could work if it was in a distinctly different visual plane than the other and the background. The background would have to be almost completly a focal color wash in order to acheive that and to get tha DOF control is difficult even with a lens that can acheive it.

The Loche is a truly unique auto, did you get take some other photos of just it?

    Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the comments, I truly appreciate at it. What I had intended to create with this photo is not working out at all. Or, at least is not being accepted but I do understand the point of the comments. That is why we just keep shooting. Thanks again.

The Locke is a unique car, I have a couple other shots but nothing fancy just shots of a car.

CF - INteresting compostion, almost like a mirror image. The background is a bit of a letdown to me, but not sure what you could have done about it. Good shot.

Thanks GB. I wish I could take this again, I like the suggestion of having both lamps in focus and would like to see what that would look like. I got exactly what I had planned for thinking the more distance lamp being a bit blurred would create more interest. The car was set in a city park and not much I could do about the background. Thanks for the comments.

I like your idea of using the reflection to caputre your subject. It may even work as a B & W.

    Cf,

have you considered photoshoping a different background in place of the existing background. Its reasonably easy to do (never thought I'd ever say that) but time consuming.

That may make the photo work, its just to busy.
