0330 Start

On job site @ 0330 hrs with camera and a bit of spare time before the first load of concrete arrived. Spotted this site lamp unit out in the pouring rain and I liked the sodium tones.

I like them too. I think this one has some potential as creative stock for effects. It looks a little like War of the Worlds :D I would definitely crop in big time to remove the area above the lights, to create an artsy or even comical effect. Then add some more effects, see what you get. Always fun to see what others see in the middle of the night.

Sounds good to me! I just see something here, not sure what .. I tried a few admittedly bad expts. Here's one - looks a bit religious?

I think this is excellent, Pete. Splendid simplicity. I like the texture and detail in the lamp pole as well as the warm color from the light. The detail and direction of the rainfall is cool. It's not quite straight down, but a slight angle and very distinct. Your placement of the pole slightly off center was a good move and its clear you were putting thought and time into the capture of this simple scene.

Nice shot. I like the minimal composition. I might have zoomed out just a tad to have the lamp a little more off center but that's a minor nit pick and a probably matter of taste.
