    Fungi on apple...

    Hi,

Here are two shots I recently took of a fungus that was growing out of an apple. I used a $10.00 desk lamp with a piece of white fabric taped over it to act as a diffuser. No editing done, except for resizing and adding the text.

    All feedback welcomed!:smile5:

Excellent... apple and free penicillin too. Yum yum!

I think the shot needs more DOF esp the second one. You may also be too close for the lens you used (whatever that is). I like the black background, seems like a planet floating through space

    Thanks for your response, GB1.

I used my Panasonic FZ7K with Kenko +2 and +4 close-up filters attached.
And I agree, the second shot has a very narrow depth-of-field.

The idea and composition work well but I want the images to be a lot sharper than they are here.
    No, I DON'T need that.

    Re: Fungi on apple...

i agree sharper ( the combo of 2 close up lenses hurts this alot), more dof and i think a sharper angle of light for number two would help alot.

I like the first shot because it looks more like a planet than an apple. I do like the second shot because of the close up. Both shots are great for me.

    Thanks for your feedback everyone.

I see that the pictures aren’t the sharpest possible, I guess it’s the close-up filters. But without them, these shots probably would not have been possible.
