    Flash units

I own a Pentax K10. I am considering purchasing a flash unit. I want one that does not have to be attached to the camera. What are some features to consider and a suggestion of a specific model or two?

Also, what are some on-line sites that are reputable for purchase of photo equipment?

    Thanks.

    David

Consider the Pentax 360 and 540.
Both are set up so u can fire them wirelessly.
Stay away from None Pentax brands as their is not a one that works right from everything I have read and seen.
Check out B&H...I pretty much buy everything from there these days.

    Javier,

Thanks for advice. I will give B&H a look. I read one place that there might have to be certain software loaded on my K10 for the 360 and 540 to work. Do you know anything about that?

The K10D is ready to go and both the 360 and 540 are all set up to be used wireless...Be sure you have the latest firmware 1.3 I believe.

    Javier,

Hate to be a bother, but how would I know if I had the firmware 1.3, and what would I do if I did not?

    Thanks,

    David

Let me see if I remember
    Turn the Camera off.
Hold the menu button and turn the camera on. This should tell you.
