In printing out the images for my portfolio, I have made some observations. The images are A3 format for my book. When viewing the Pentax K10D images on screen, they do NOT look that flattering compared to my Canon's. But when they are printed they translate incredibly well. It was the inverse for the Canon's. On screen they looked great but in print although excellent, they don't have the impact that the K10D images do.
I don't know if it is a subjective relative value paradigm. By that I mean, being that they were OK on the screen and excellent in print, perhaps the contrast between the two resolutions is more evident. I am still trying to adapt to the differences in skin tone rendition vs the Canon's that I became used to over three years time. As per the translation to print, again the prints are incredibly sharp. They did not need to be interpolated for my portfolio.
