    Vivitar Flash

Has anyone used the Vivtar DF-383 flash on their camera? I want to get a flash for my E-600, but want to make sure I get one that's compatible. I'm on a strict budget, which is why I can afford the Olympus flashes.

    Thanks,

I think the flash will work. Manual only. So you will be compensating for it. That can get frustrating.

The Vivitar DF 383 will work as advertised with all Oly products. I us an old 285 HV and love it; but I'm old school. The 383 is cheap, almost a disposable flash. You can buy three of them for the cost of an FL-50. I don't think you can go wrong.

Thanks. Everything I found said it will work TTL, so I think that's the way I'm going to go.

So I went ahead and ordered the flash off Ebay, $125 shipped. Got it today, and I'm happy to report that it is TTL compatible with the E-600. So far, seems a good compromise to spending $200+ for the Oly flash.
