    Using the Remote Contro RM-1

I own an Olympus E-3 and the E-5 and I just recently purchased the RM-1 remote control for those cameras, but I can't seem to get it to work on either camera.

Is there someone out there that has one of these camreas and have used the remote control Rm-1 successfuly?

If so I would very much apprecate your explaining how I can be successful doing this.

This is my very first post on this forum so bare with me.

Thanks in advance for any help from anyone who understand this.

Re: Using the Remote Contro RM-1

According to the manual on page 61
    http://resources.olympus-europa.com/...anual%20EN.pdf

You need to set remote mode, as shown on page 59.
Then just point the RM-1 at at the camera from the front, and press the shutter button on the remote.

    Just read the manual carefully.
See attached picture and keep in mind that the remote works only from front of the camera.

also make sure the battery in the remote is good. I have an E-3 and have used it with no problems.

I have successfully used my RM-1 with my E1 & E3. You might need to match the control frequency with the camera: Aim the RM-1 at the Remote Control window on the camera, and press the CH button and the W or T button at the same time until the Self-Timer/Remote control signal blinks or the camera emits a beep sound.
