    Smile Sigma 55mm - 200mm f/4-5.6 vs Olympus 40-150mm f/4.0-5.6

which one do you guys think is a better choice, i am trying to make my mind about it, they both very identical just one is Sigma and one is Olympus, i know olympus is better but having 200mm vs 150mm does get me little closer to things

thanx for the guidance in advance.

Personally, I prefer the earlier Olympus 40-150mm f3.5~4.5 lens. The newer Olympus 40-150 is much smaller, but also slower. It's main advantage is that it's very pocketable. But you will NEED to use the IS with it, because of the small max aperture.

The first version of the Oly 40-150 is still widely available.

Agreed, the 40-150 smokes the sigma. You can use the 40-150 at any zoom, any aperture, and still get sharp results. The sigma needs to be dragged back and stopped down a bit. That's the benefit of the ZD lenses, aside from the size (MUCH smaller!)

I had both the 40-150s and ended up keeping the older one.

Considered the 55-200 at one point as well but the optical quality of the Zuikos is much higher.
