    Re: selling my Fl-36 Flash

Since my FL-40 flash does work on my SP-570UZ when set in manual mode, getting the FL-36 was a bit of an impulse buy. Two nights ago, the first test did not prove conclusively that the extra expense was justified.
In addition, yesterday I was asked to make a pronouncement on the usefulness of the FL-36R outdoors - and I could not do so at the time.
Today was a bright day, suitable for finding the answer to both questions.
The FL-40 only has two angular settings. With my C-2500L, TTL mode with the FL-40 was hit-and-miss, particularly when there were streaks of direct light in the picture. With the C-750 I got more consistent results, but I never checked whether TTL mode permitted overriding the automatic intensity setting.
The FL-36R has four or five angular settings. When in TTL mode, it permits manual setting of the intensity using a thumbwheel (+ and -3 in increments of .3). Since it is designed to work as a slave, the FL-36 has a second automatic mode with no need to talk to the camera through a hotshoe. So now I feel I can justify my impulse buy.
