    Sigma 50mm 1.4 now in 4/3

    http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/len...7&navigator=17

This lens sells for 500USD for Canon and Nikon, I assume similar for Olympus.

Still I wonder why we don't get the 50mm 2.8 that sells for under 300 for everyone else.

F1.4 wow! The depth of field is crazy small already with my 50mm prime F2. Impressive though I probably would have gone for this over the olympus glass jsut cause I don't know of any other lense with F1.4 for our cameras?

there's two other popular lenses with a f1.4.
    sigma 30mm f/1.4
    panasonic-leica 25mm f/1.4

the main problem i have with the 50mm f/2 is really that its probably too long for indoor use. this is probably where i would get most use of a super bright lens. im not sure that the sigma 50mm f/1.4 would really be a popular lens with the olympus 50mm being so good already, plus it doesnt even cost as much as the sigma.

also the Sigma is rubbish for macro work, it has a pretty large focusing distance, but thats the trade off you get with these super fast lenses. Also the smallest aperature is going to be 16.

I really wish the ZD 35mm was faster than 3.5, the 12-60 can do 35mm at F/3.7 which is pretty damn close. if the 35mm was 2.8 or faster, I would pick it up in a heartbeat. It would be a perfect prime for my needs.

Ahh gotcha, I'll stick with my 50mm olympus glass then, I mostly wanted it as a Macro lense for fishtank shots etc. I have the 50mm range covered in all 3 of my lenses. 50mm Priime, 14-54 and 50-200
