Re: OM 50mm Test Photos
Thanx. I'm so much more comfortable with this lens. My only gripe is the is low light focusing. My vision is bad with the small viewfinder on the 420. Ill probably pick up a magnifier when I get the chance.

you cant use them in auto. only in M or S mode. thats about it i think. you focus manually.

Re: OM 50mm Test Photos
well since it's digital, you have the luxury of 0-cost experimentation. Just put the lens on and see what it does. yes, you'll have to do some stop down metering which is to say that the lens won't be recognized by the camera and so the only way to meter the scene properly will be to stop the lens down by hand. This darkens the viewfinder considerably so focusing will now be tough. I find it's best to take your time, compose, focus and then stop the lens down to the aperture that works. I've used manual lenses in A and M modes. Be sure to select a shutter speed that won't show camera shake (1/125 should be ok with those lenses, or higher). Remember to have fun. I don't use my old lenses nearly enough, but when I do I'm usually happy.

Maybe you should try one of these. I use one on my E3.
