Olympus FE-230, Help needed on repairing!

Hello guys, this will be MY first camera ever and i am excited to get it working. This camera was just bought by my friend where she than broke the LCD screen. Luckily i found a LCD screen on eBay for the exact model for $40 and i asked her if i could have the camera since she already bought a new one. Of course she said yes and now I'm here eagerly awaiting my LCD screen to arrive. So i have a few questions!

1. What is the difficulty of this situation?

2. Has anyone done a lcd swap and have tips for me?

3. Any precautions i should take before attempting disassembling the camera?

4. Does anyone know any online guides i can use to have a smooth operation?

Any other tips would be appreciated!! please and thank you!

I have never tried it but if you are a good DIY person you may be ok. Maybe someone else with a little more experiance will read this. Looks like you really have nothing tp lose trying.

I consider compact digital cameras pretty much disposable. We get the occassional person, like yourself, who wants to try to do their own repair. But we never hear from them again. I don't have any advice to offer. But I sure am curious about how your camera operation turns out. So please let us know. Like Greg said, for $40 you really can't lose.

So im back, i finished the operation and it all went fine! camera is working perfectly. Took a while because i had to solder 2 wires and i dont have a soldering needle so i had to wait till i visited my uncle to use his. but now its fine. 40 bucks for a pretty much brand new camera! :]

nope.. there wasnt much to do. I just got the screen, installed it and had to solder 2 wires.
