    Smile Fl-36

I had an option to use the FL-36 last nite and after snapping photos of some small concert, the flash gave up on me after maybe 150 pictures,

it drained the batteries out, is there another way of powering these than the normal AA batteries.

although i was able to get some nice images from my 510 and the flash.

The FL-36 only holds 2 AAs? correct? To be honest, 150 photos is quite a bit, I think you can just carry an extra set of batteries with you if you want more pictures. 2 in the camera and 4 in the pocket, you will be able to take 450 pictures! I have a Metz-48 which takes 4 batteries.. I can't honestly tell you how many shots that would be, but I always have 4 extra batteries with me.
