    New Guy with a E-420

    Hello. I thought I'd join this forum to learn more about my e-420 that I aquired on Christmas. I am new to photography and hope to learn alot from this site. Thanx in advance for having me..

    Tips that helped me....

    Use a tripod whenever possible
    shoot RAW, it will give you more PP options.
    On olympus cameras, try to shoot iso100 whenever possible.

    Welcome to the Olympus fold. I like your choice of subjects above. If you're new I'd recommend getting a book that will help you understand the basics - what ISO does, what White Balance does, aperture, depth of field etc. I flipped through Bryan Peterson's Understanding Exposure at the bookstore the other day and it looks well done. There are little exercises in each chapter to help you apply what you're reading. They looked like fun, which is the thing to remember - have fun!
