This is really good news from Olympus. I can't wait to see some specs on it.

If you really intend to get this new guy when its released, make sure to sell the 520 before January. I think if you capitalize on the holidays you can really make the most money back. Everyone will be looking to buy, not as many trying to sell.

Well if I did decide to sell it I doubt I would take much of a loss, after selling the 14-42mm, the camera only cost me $430 shipped

I'll probably just stick with the 520 a bit longer until I start getting paid to take pictures (I wish)...

Rumours say that the e-xx will not have weather sealing, which is the lynchpin for me. I am waiting for the final specs to decide whether this will be my next camera or not.

about weathersealing...the info from oly is that it has an improved alternative to the current e3's system. i dont know what the heck that means.

i would be pretty excited about this camera, but i kind of think by the time im ready to buy one...i'll just end up with a used e3 for the same price.

I thought the same, about getting a used E3 for similar price, but If this E-XX has a movie mode, Im all for it. The panasonic G1 will have a version that records HD with stereo sound. I hope we will see the same with the Olympus. If not, I might go D90, but I really dont want to.

I considered a used e3 also, but i'd rather have the smaller size of the e-xx. size and durability are both huge factors for me. if those specs are true, this will be a great camera. sorry for the lack of caps, i cut my pinky on a mandolin at work so i'm avoiding the shift key

I like the swiveling LCD, but wish for a more front-facing shutter release button like with the E-3. This one looks (and will feel) too much like my E-510 (which I admit needs improvement in the ergonomics department).
