    XZ-1 RAW editing

I am fighting against the Olympus software.
Longing for Adobe to add the XZ-1 to the RAW editing support in Lightroom.

Until then (and it can't come soon enough) I am struggling using Olympus Viewer 2, if that was all I had to edit/convert I'd not be using raw at all, I find it's really horrible to use.
I know, I've been spoilt with LR 3.3

So XZ-1 users, what's your workflow?
Straight to .TIF and edit in Photoshop?
Is the editing in Olympus Viewer destructive?

What's the quickest way to export ?
I found it once in a dropdown menu, and I haven't seen it since in about a hour of senseless twiddling. :mad2:

I'm ok with Olympus Viewer 2 - when I have to use it. And I'm using it now. I think the output quality is just as good as Lightroom. The workflow and tools leave a lot to be desired, though. I am looking forward to Lightroom support, too.

My workflow is make RAW color, exposure and contrast adjustments in Olympus Viewer 2's RAW control panel. To export, click on the diskette icon at the upper left of the screen. I export TIFF and then fine-tune in Photoshop. One thing that's bugging me is I only seem to be able to shoot in sRGB and I always forget to convert to Adobe RGB in the Olympus software.

    Re: XZ-1 RAW editing

same here, I love the xz-1 but i cant do anything with the photos until Adobe adds support for xz-1 for lightroom. Olympus software is not the greatest and a huge learning curve for me. I am travelling on friday to saudi arabia and bought the xz-1 for this purpose (very hard to find xz-1 to buy right now)

hopefully when i come back, there will be support for xz-1 in lightroom (i doubt that though)

    Lightroom 3.4 Release Candidate

Adobe announced LR 3.4 release candidate today, with support for the Olympus XZ-1. Go get it!

Adobe Lightroom 3.4 and Camera Raw 6.4 >>

Should make RAW adjustments and conversions a lot more pleasant, huh?

Now then, a word in Canon's ear about their next 1D series DSLRs.
I'm waiting for the 1DmkV and 1DSmkV with articulated screen.
