How to use filters with E-510

    Hi,

I am a complete newbie to the Olympus Evolt E-510. I want to start experimenting with filters but need to know which ones are recommended (Hoya/Cokin etc) and how to fit them onto the camera lens. For instance: the Hoya 58mm UV filter I have looked at comes with a screw thread - I can't see how this mounts onto the lens...

    Any help appreciated.

Filters just screw onto the end of the lens. All SLR lenses are threaded on the end.

For digital, color photography, the only filter that really matters is the circular polarizer. The UV is really just a protective filter to keep your lens safe. Any kind of colored filtration is better done with post-processing.
