Got my metz! Wow what a difference over the stock flash is only some quick test shots.

What kind of batteries are you using? I'm thinking NIMH might help the cycle time since they are capable of higher discharge rates. Of course lithiums are as well.

Are you having any problems with the flash?

The mm on the flash should display the mm the lense is set to right? I set the Metz for the 4/3rd system and it still does not display this correctly.

On my 14-54mm Metz Displays 12-43mm
On my 14-42mm Metz Displays 12-35mm
On my 50mm Metz Displays 43mm

Whats the deal? Is this how it is supposed to work?

are you looking at the numbers on the right or on the left? because on mine, it displays roughly the right digits when taking the multiplication factor into account. update the firmware maybe?

also, how did you "set" it? shouldnt already be 4/3?

I'm talking about the numbers on the right. By default it was not set to 4/3 you have to press the mode buttons until the s blinks, then turn it on. By default the numbers were even farther off. like 80+ mm at full zoom on the 14-54. I believe it calculates the 35mm equivilant by default. I'm already using firmware 2.0 so there is nothing to update too. I willt ry it on my buddies e420 this weekend. Going to vegas and brining my tripod/flash :)

hmm... i have no idea about setting it to different things. I dont understand why it WOULDNT be fine on default though, since its made for olympus.

    I have the same problem.
LCD screen on Metz 48 reads 24-70mm when I mount 14-42mm lens.
If you somehow find out how to fix this, please let us know.

I'll probably call them tomorrow. However it sounds like you are not using the 4/3 display mode. It tells in the manual how to set it to 4/3 display then the numbers will be closer to what they should be. Let me know if they are still off once you put it into 4/3 mode.

In 4/3 mode, it reads 12-35mm.
Every other lens that I have (25mm 2.8, 50mm 2.0) read similiar ways.
Hopefully you can come up with some kind of solution to this problem and share with all of us!
