Those are great! The files are huge, though. It makes the page load super slow.

Where did you take these? I don't think I've ever seen these birds. I have seen plenty of what I call "asphalt chickens" - the partridges that run around on the street here in SLC. Never seen a bird around here make a display like these, though.

How's the continuous auto focus with that 50-200mm lens and E-5? That's an f/2.8 lens, right? Please write a review for the lens in our user reviews section after you've used it a bit and gotten to know it.

"Where did you take these? I don't think I've ever seen these birds."

These birds are called Sage Grouse. In years past they were plentiful, but man's expansion, with all his stuff has really hurt their numbers. The few remaining are found in sage areas of Nevada, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, and a few other states.

Each spring they return to an area called a Lek, and do their mating ritual. If you go to the Wildlife and Nature forum of this site, I posted other photos there and a brief explanation of the birds.

Here are a few more photos of the Sage Grouse at the Lek!

As far as the lens goes, it seemed to do very well yesterday. It does not focus close, but does a great job at the proper distances. I did not try the continuous focus.

Wow! These are great shots. What a beautiful lens!

I love the colors too. Quite an interesting bird, too! I've never seen one before.

Thanks. The lens seems to be great when used within its parameters.. Here are few more photos from the Lek where the birds strut!
