    50-200mm on the way

After some horse trading around I have found myself to be the owner of a slightly used 50-200mm lens. I got a tracking number and it's on the way. I have read only good about the lens. Hopefully this time next week I can post some shots. I know from the specs it's a beast compared to the 12-60mm.

Greg, I think you'll really enjoy that lens. Just for some comparison here's a couple of shots I took while trying to decide on what lenses to carry to Disney. These are taken from the same spot, min - max zoom, set on auto.

How often do you have to use a tripod? I know I rarely used one with th 70-300mm but it wasn't as near as heavy as the 50-200mm

Can't wait to see the shots... I'm considering adding a zoom to my kit for next summer.

Thanks Megan and also for the great pictures Cruzthepug. I was trying so hard to lighten my camera bag too. I need some more options there. I really don't want a ton of gear. I think that would be detrimental to what I am trying to do, overall.
I like the Bama shots, a guy I work with is a die hard fan. Got any sources for some tickets?
Edit: My roadbike is being powder coated and rebuilt. I should have it back road worthy in a few weeks. Wait till you see the color...

You'll like the lens; it's a great lens that's sharp throughout it's whole focal length spectrum. I've gotta laugh at the comment about lightening the camera bag. While on active duty, I carried a camera backpack with about 50 - 60 LBS worth of equipment in it. Today my Oly bag, weighs about 15-20 LBS. That's carrying a backup body too! What a relief on the old back.

Wow! Those are gorgeous shots! What an awesome lens. Thanks for posting the images.

Greg - can't wait to see your images. It looks like a beautiful lens. Wish I could carry something that heavy.
