    The Evolution of Dance

Had to laugh out loud at this one. How many dances do you remember?

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...41964498299964

    By the way...
In case you guys don't do it, you should check the Google Top 100 Videos every week or so. It's loaded with good stuff! They censor out all porn & nudity. Though some of it is still a little racey.

It's where I get most of my OT stuff these days

LOL, hi Rick My daughter sent me this video and I had the best laugh I've had in a long time. Sadly, I remember all the dances, which makes me a relic. heh

    Re: The Evolution of Dance

I watched this before I left this morning. Love that Ice Ice Baby. Sadly, I remember when Vanilla Ice wasn't a joke, I think we had that tape (there's the sad part)

I was just at a wedding where they did all those dances....fortunately, I was a guest, not a photog, I would have dropped the camera from laughing so hard.

    Funny stuff...

...although his first "moves", doing Elvis, wasn't even close to the real thing. :frown2:

The other bits were pretty funny though...

Yeah, Vanilla Ice was one of my favorites of his too. And MC Hammer. He coulda nailed NSYNC a little better, but it was still pretty damn funny.

I remember when Vanilla Ice came out and it's all people wanted to hear. The DC pop station had a "top 9 at 9" countdown, and for a week Ice Ice Baby was 1-9. Then like everything once loved, he became the laughing stock.

I owned the tape too Adina. What was that? 9th grade?

MC Hammer was funny. He was right on with Sir Mix-a-lot and House of Pain (Jump Around, white Irish rappers...too funny)

    Eminem was an easy one.

    Met the dude...

By the time I met VI (Rob Van Winkle to his close friends) in the early 90's, he had already been out of the music business for some time, and had (believe it or not) opened up a sports shop a block away from my studio in Miami Beach.

He specialized in bmx and mountain bikes, as well as skateboards and rollerblade stuff. Funny thing was, he was cool with his fame being over, and used some of his money to persue another one of his loves (the store).

I found him a very aproachable and likeable guy... :yesnod:

Of course, he eventually closed the shop, and at some wacky point decided to get back into the "business". I'm not quite sure what to make of his comeback... :23:

He was on VH1's Surreal Life at one point. He didn't seem to comfortable with his Vanilla Ice phase then.. Of course, you're playing for ratings, so who knows how accurate that was.

Looks like Ice Ice Baby was in 1990, that would have put me in 6th or 7th grade.

    Re: The Evolution of Dance

I saw the Surreal Life with MC Hammer, Vince Neil, a girl from 90210, Corey Feldman, and Webster. That was pretty funny. We actually stayed up watching a marathon of it one night and saw the entire season. We felt like crud afterwards.

MC Hammer actually has dealt with his fame pretty well. He's a preacher now, and still makes time for his fans. Seems pretty well adjusted actually Corey had some issues though.

I watched that show! I thought it was pretty cool (in an entertaining, waste of time sort of way). I was a big Motley Crue fan, so I wanted to see Vince Neil. Corey Feldman is a major tool. I couldn't believe he played a song off of one of his albums for the talet show. What a joke.

I was a little peeved that Hammer didn't bust into one of his hits in that talent show. I mean, come on! Please Hammer don't hurt em!

"Corey Feldman is a major tool."
I haven't heard someone use the word "tool" in so long. Well done, Michael! It was like the other day when the term "house music" popped into my head, and I realized I haven't heard anyone use the term "house" in years and years. Unless they're talking about that hospital show.

His ICE ICE BABY melted quickly from the stage lights I guess?

I've had that song in my head since this thread started. At least I've stopped singing it outloud.
