I need linear actuators. Can you tell me where to find them?

Totally understandable — when I was in your shoes, the variety of options was baffling at first. What really helped me was reviewing a dedicated catalog of standard linear actuators that breaks down the differences in force ratings, stroke lengths, and duty cycles without assuming you already know all the jargon. You can see that overview on this page about linear actuator selection https://www.progressiveautomations.c...near-actuators . The nice thing is that it groups products in a way that makes sense for general automation projects — you can compare models side by side and see where a particular actuator fits in terms of expected load and travel.

I’m trying to finalize the design for a mechanized workstation in my garage, and part of me wants to use off-the-shelf motion components, because custom fabrication is taking forever. I keep hearing about linear actuators as a good solution for controlled motion, but I’ve never specified one before, and there are so many descriptions flying around that it’s hard to know where to begin. I need something that’s robust enough to handle mid-range loads, but not overkill.

That actually makes the whole thing feel a lot more approachable. Instead of guessing at specs or digging through random catalogs, having everything laid out in a structured way means I can start matching the actuator to the motion I need. Now that I’ve seen how they present real numbers and use case examples, I feel less intimidated.
